Update of #2: The reason the control and treated groups have identical SE values is that ANCOVA generates a single pooled error variance. While not statistically “wrong,” this mode of presentation can be misleading — it prevents readers from assessing the actual within-group and between-group variabilities in the dataset. The authors are encouraged to share raw data, and group-specific SE data. |
